6 month old Fetus Revealing Lanugo

This photograph was made of a human fetus barely 6 months of age. Specialized approaches and lighting were used to highlight the matted lanugo, which forms interesting patterns and reveals how the oblique roots of the hair are positioned in the skin. This image is part of a much larger body of work the photographer has produced exploring life before birth beginning at conception for more than 50 years.
