This illustration highlights the digestive system using a partial cutaway of the ileocecal junction, revealing Crohn’s disease. Thickening of the bowel wall and ulcers can be seen. Glowing areas throughout the intestine indicate additional areas of Crohn’s disease. A unique characteristic of Crohn’s is that it can affect any part of the digestive tract.
